Webb Yates were employed by Caledonian Building Systems to undertake the structural design for new student accommodation for The University of Sheffield. The accommodation was split over eight blocks on a steeply sloping site. The buildings were constructed using volumetric modular construction supported on traditional trench fill foundations. Webb Yates Engineers were responsible for both the structural design of the modules as well as the design of the foundations and the overall stability of the buildings.
