We are now looking for a Senior/Associate Mechanical Engineer, Civil Engineer and a HR Manager to join our teams. 

 

Senior/Associate Mechanical Engineer – Full Time – London

Webb Yates Engineers is looking for an experienced Senior Mechanical Engineer/ Associate Mechanical Engineer with minimum 6 years’ experience. Candidates will ideally have Engineering Level 6 or equivalent qualification and the Chartered Engineer status, preferably MCIBSE but alternative equivalent acceptable.

Candidates will have the ability to carry out analysis and design of building services systems and produce viable building services solutions, within the scope of a design brief, taking account of critical constraints, safety, sustainability and cost and the ability to carry out analysis and design of building services systems.

Candidates need to be confident in working independently as well as part of a team. Ideal candidates will have excellent client-facing and internal communication skills to motivate and lead projects and experience in mechanical design role running projects from conception through to completion.

Candidates will have experience of health and safety requirements and legislation and knowledge of relevant environmental and sustainability issues.

The successful candidate will be expected to be responsible for leading a mechanical engineering team producing designs and project deliverables, preparing fee bids, liaising with clients, project fee management, attending meetings and construction sites, supervising and checking the production of project deliverables and leading day-to-day aspects of a range of projects.

Civil Engineer – Full Time – London 

Webb Yates Engineers is looking for an experienced Civil Engineer with 3 to 5 years’ experience. Candidates will ideally have a degree or equivalent in Civil Engineering and be near or just Chartered with ICE or CIWEM.

Candidates will have the ability to carry out analysis and design of drainage systems, hard standing and highways works, and must have knowledge of producing viable civil engineering solutions, within the scope of a design brief, taking account of critical constraints, safety, sustainability and cost

Candidates will have relevant experience in civil engineering design, including micro drainage, SuDS, highway, infrastructure and Civils 3D.

The successful candidate will be expected to work alongside more senior engineers on all stages of the structural and civil design of buildings and other projects. This will include initial scheme design of options, design development and coordination with other members of the design teams, detailed design calculations, assisting in the preparation of working drawings and details, together with site inspections.

HR Manager – Full Time – London 

Webb Yates Engineers is looking for a HR Manager to join its team.

This is an exciting time for the practice. With three UK offices, and a growing portfolio of award-winning projects across a number of sectors and disciplines, the company is looking to recruit a bright, organised and dedicated HR Manager to help support our growing practice.

The role:

Human resources

  • Managing the onboarding process – setting up new personnel files and coordinating first day inductions
  • Managing the offboarding process – organising exit interview and end of contract administration
  • Coordinating staff learning and development, and organising performance reviews and appraisals
  • Managing and monitoring all staff records
  • Communicating employee changes promptly to relevant departments
  • Assisting the Financial Controller with payroll
  • Creating and updating HR policies and procedures in line with employment law
  • Acting as main point of contact to all line managers and staff on HR policies and procedures

Recruitment

  • Drafting job adverts and liaising with jobs sites and recruitment agencies
  • Receiving, tracking and responding to all applications from candidates
  • Acting as first point of contact for candidates
  • Organising interviews
  • Sending job offers and preparing contracts
  • Coordinating reference and right to work checks
  • Keeping up to date with staff resourcing

Administration

  • Overseeing Administrative Assistant’s tasks including ensuring office and meeting areas are tidy and well stocked
  • General administrative support will be required during busy periods, including answering phones, and providing ad-hoc administrative support to the technical staff

The successful candidate will be a team player – comfortable working with colleagues at all levels, and bringing enthusiasm, a proactive attitude and great organisation skills to the practice.

An interest in the built environment sector would be desirable. Knowledge of employment law, good attention to detail, excellent communication skills and a minimum of three years’ experience in a HR role are a must.
