We are currently recruiting the following positions to join our teams. 

 

Structural Engineer – Full Time – Bristol

Webb Yates Engineers is looking for an experienced Structural Engineer to join our growing Bristol office.

Candidates will have 2 to 6 years’ experience, will ideally have an Engineering Level 6 or equivalent qualification and undertaking professional development towards Chartered Engineer qualification preferably MIStructE but alternative equivalent is acceptable.

The successful candidate will be expected to work alongside more senior engineers on all stages of the structural and civil design of buildings and other projects. This will include:

  • developing structural engineering designs including undertaking structural analysis, preparing calculations and sketches
  • preparing reports and specifications,
  • assisting with managing the preparation of engineering deliverables,
  • checking and reviewing of engineering designs and deliverables.
  • liaising, collaborating and coordinating with other project team members.
  • attending meetings and representing the organisation externally.
  • carrying out site visits and surveys
  • assisting with the managing of projects and other staff members.

The successful candidate should have an enthusiasm for structural and civil engineering, architecture, the built environment, sustainability and related disciplines, and should be keen to develop professionally in these fields, with sound technical knowledge and excellent communication and interpersonal skills (client facing and internal communication). Knowledge of health and safety requirements, legislation and relevant environmental and sustainability issues is required.

Paid Engineering Summer Internship 2021 

Webb Yates Engineers is looking for students to join our offices this Summer 2021.

This is an opportunity for students that are knowledgeable about the Structural Engineering sector to join a multi-disciplinary engineering practice for 6-8 weeks this summer.

Candidates will have an enthusiasm for structural engineering, the built environment and related disciplines, and should be keen to develop professionally in these fields. The successful candidate is ideally studying in Civil, Structural or General Engineering Master’s degree (or equivalent) and graduating in Summer 2022.

Duties and responsibilities

  • Initial scheme design of option
  • Design development
  • Detailed design calculations
  • assisting in the preparation of working drawings and details together with site inspections
  • undertake computer analyses for more complex solutions.

You will work as part of our team with full supervision with a varied workload and can expect the support you need to develop your skills.

Electrical Engineer – Full Time – London

Webb Yates Engineers is looking for an experienced Electrical Engineer with 4-7 years’ experience. Candidates will ideally have Engineering Level 7 or equivalent qualification and work toward the Chartered Engineer status, preferably MCIBSE but alternative equivalent acceptable.

Candidates will have a strong background in electrical engineering and the ability to produce viable electrical services solutions, within the scope of a design brief, including full electrical system and lighting calculations, taking account of critical constraints, safety, sustainability and cost and the ability to carry out analysis and design of building services systems.

Candidates will have experience of health and safety requirements and legislation and knowledge of relevant environmental and sustainability issues. Candidates need to be confident in working by themselves as well as working as part of a team. Ideal candidates will have excellent client-facing and internal communication skills to motivate and lead a project team.

The successful candidate will be expected to managing projects, undertake electrical design, within the context of building design projects, attending meetings and construction sites, supervising production of project deliverables and leading day-to-day aspects of some projects.

Mechanical Engineer/Intermediate Mechanical Engineer – Full Time – London 

Webb Yates Engineers is looking for an experienced Mechanical Engineer/ Intermediate Mechanical Engineer with minimum 4 years’ experience. Candidates will ideally have Engineering Level 6 or equivalent qualification.

Candidates will have the ability to carry out analysis and design of building services systems and produce viable building services solutions, within the scope of a design brief, taking account of critical constraints, safety, sustainability and cost and the ability to carry out analysis and design of building services systems.

Candidates will have experience of health and safety requirements and legislation and knowledge of relevant environmental and sustainability issues. Candidates need to be confident in working independently as well as part of a team. Ideal candidates will have excellent client-facing and internal communication skills to motivate and lead a project and experience in building services design role running projects from conception through to completion.

The successful candidate will be expected to develop building services engineering designs including undertaking analysis, preparing reports and specifications, assisting with managing the preparation of engineering deliverables, checking and reviewing engineering designs and deliverables and attending meetings and construction sites.
