Our Birmingham office is recruiting 

Webb Yates Engineers is looking for an experienced Chartered Senior Structural Engineer and a Graduate Structural Engineer to join our growing Birmingham office.

Our office in Birmingham is dynamic and centrally located in the Jewellery Quarter, easily accessible by bicycle, car or public transport.  It has a wide ranging portfolio of projects across various sectors in the UK and internationally and all scales from £1m up to £25m with leading architects and developers.

 

Graduate Structural Engineer - Full Time – Birmingham

The applicant should have an enthusiasm for structural and civil engineering, architecture, the built environment, sustainability and related disciplines, and should be keen to develop professionally in these fields. Candidates will have up to 3 years experience, a sound understanding of engineering principles and should have achieved a first class honours MEng degree in a related subject.

The successful candidate will be expected to work alongside more senior engineers on all stages of the design of buildings and other structures. This will include initial scheme design of options, design development and coordination with other members of the design teams, detailed design calculations in a range of materials, assisting in the preparation of working drawings and details together with site inspections. You will be expected to undertake computer analyses for more complex solutions.

The successful candidate will work as part of our team with full supervision and training as necessary and can expect greater responsibilities and swift career progression with experience. Webb Yates Engineers provides leadership and support for junior engineers to gain sufficient experience and training in working towards their professional status with relevant institution for their job role (ICE, IStructE for example).

Senior Electrical Engineer/Associate – Full Time – London

Webb Yates Engineers is looking for an experienced Senior Electrical Engineer/Associate with minimum 4 years’ experience. Candidates will ideally have Engineering Level 7 or equivalent qualification and the Chartered Engineer status, preferably MCIBSE but alternative equivalent acceptable.

Candidates will have excellent client-facing and internal communication skills to motivate and lead your project team as well as the ability to produce viable electrical services solutions, within the scope of a design brief, including full electrical system and lighting calculations, taking account of critical constraints, safety, sustainability and cost and the ability to carry out analysis and design of building services systems.

Candidates will have experience of health and safety requirements and legislation and knowledge of relevant environmental and sustainability issues.

The successful candidate will be expected to managing projects and other team members, undertake electrical design, within the context of building design projects, attending meetings and construction sites, supervising production of project deliverables and leading day-to-day aspects of some projects.
