Coast House wins RIBA East Award

Coast House, by Hudson Architects, last week took home a RIBA East Award!

The new private home is set within the Glaven Valley Conservation Area in Norfolk. The single-storey design sees a series of outward-facing en-suite bedrooms composed around a central 'pavilion', with a generous open plan kitchen, dining and living area.

We're pleased to have provided building services design for the building, which employs Passivhaus principles to ensure it is a passively and actively sustainable structure. The building is environmentally oriented to minimise heating demand, and the fabric is highly insulated and air-tight. Photovoltaic panels and an air source heat pump support the energy requirements of the house.
