Our lightweight pedestrian suspension bridge near Toulon in France has been shortlisted for the Structural Awards 2014 Awards for Pedestrian Bridges. The Structural Awards have been running for 46 years and are considered the world's most prominent Awards for structural engineering. The Institution's aim is to celebrate the work of the most talented structural designers and their indispensable contribution to the built environment. A judge's comment on the bridge:
"The designers have created an elegant and carefully crafted structure the simplicity of which has resulted in a wholly appropriate form, fitting perfectly into and responding well to the particular constraints of the site. They have demonstrated an ability to confront challenging practical and economical constraints with elegance and efficiency."
