Set within the stunning woodland site adjacent to Edgbaston Reservoir, the new community centre for Birmingham Settlement is now complete.

Teamed with Axis Design Architects, Webb Yates Engineers designed the structure using loadbearing porotherm blocks, cellulose insulation and exposed timber to minimise embodied carbon.

The building aims to create a new beacon set against the green landscape of the site to make it visible to passers-by from the reservoir path and uses an unusual roof form and colour palette to announce its presence.

This is the first element of a wider masterplan for the site creating a fantastic new facility for the local community.
