On the back of previous successful fundraising challenges, this year the team upped the stakes. The 'Webb Yates Three Peaks Challenge' required select 'steely' members of the London office to tackle exhaustion, 10,000 feet and a cramped poorly ventilated minibus all in 24 hours.
The challenge involved climbing the three highest peaks of England, Scotland and Wales within 24 hours. Starting in the Scottish highlands Webb Yates 'Warriors' negotiated the steep banks of Ben Nevis within 6 hours before a long drive to the base of Scafell Pike in the Lake District. The team then attacked the 3500 feet of England's lofty offering before once more attempting to recharge in the cosy team minibus en route to the Welsh land. The final scale of Mount Snowdon required the team to tackle huge sheep, sleep deprivation, and fitness more suited to a desk job, in order to successfully complete the challenge!
Webb Yates Engineers were pleased to help raise money to support Practical Action, a charity whose aim is "to use technology to challenge povertyâ€. We are delighted to have raised over £3,000 for Practical Action.
Special thanks to Deptford Green School for their support.
